Base pay range CA$56,500.00 / yr
Location: Toronto, ON - Downtown
Status: Full-time, Contract (6 months)
Hours / Shifts: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm. Schedules are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

This is a 24/7 live-in program that provides services to young men involved in the youth justice system, who have been charged with an offense and ordered for either open custody or detention placements. The team provides education and employment support, life-skills programming, and transitional planning to support individuals as they leave the program. You will report to the Supervisor and maintain a structured, trauma-informed and safe setting for 24/7 coverage, aligned with ministry operational guidelines, and address the daily educational needs of the youth in partnership with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Senior Counsellor and leadership team to support youth, including:
- Ensuring all youth records are current and complete
- Supporting tracking of youth needs such as clothing and hygiene items
- Coordinating and tracking medical/dental/health appointments
- Case management support with the Senior Counsellor, including:
- Completing Part 1 of the intake process for incoming youth
- Supporting the secondary intake process with Senior Counsellor support
- Scheduling, preparing, planning for, and co-facilitating case management planning meetings
- Communicating with parents/guardians, ally persons, resource persons, probation officers, etc.
- Scheduling youth appointments and programming
- Attending court with youth
- Supporting youth with hygiene, life skills, social skills, and individualized planning
- Developing and administering education-based, client-centered plans; participating in ongoing program planning and development
- Maintaining relationships with Toronto District School Board staff and school site partners
- Attending school daily with youth to provide behavioral support and meet educational goals
- Supervising, training, and developing new staff, students and volunteers
- Assisting youth and families in reaching individual goals
- Fostering a safe and healthy work environment; crisis de-escalation as needed
- Ensuring youth records are closed and stored according to licensing standards and program policy
- Preparing and pre-cooking dinner following safe food handling protocols
Administration & Professional Development
- Maintain timely and accurate notes and logs using case management software and perform other administrative tasks
- Assist in reporting statistics and notes for program evaluation or special projects
- Writing Serious Occurrence Reports Level 2s as required (with support)
- Conduct security calls and house checks; document as per policy
- Audit program logs
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and planning sessions
- Work effectively with team members; model agency values and mission
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational initiatives
- Provide regular reporting to funders and support fiscal management of the program
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Education / Experience
Who you are
- Diploma / Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work; related education considered
- Minimum one year experience with youth who have experienced trauma in a trauma-informed framework
- Demonstrated experience in isis prevention and intervention
- Experience engaging with diverse populations with a culturally responsive lens
- Valid G driver\'s license
- Understanding of systemic barriers affecting youth; strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Assets
- Understanding of Youth Criminal Justice Act, Education Act, Safe Schools Act; experience in licensed residential setting
- Knowledge of Toronto social service agencies; willingness to work with clients outside the local area
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR, CPI, ASIST
- Case management experience and live-in program experience
