Overview

Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to join our team as a Journeyperson Industrial Electrician in Bathurst, New Brunswick. An Industrial Electrician is responsible for carrying out various maintenance tasks, such as installing, inspecting and troubleshooting machines and electrical equipment, and carrying out preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains operational.

What You’ll Do
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner while following all health and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Identify health and safety issues and hazards to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues in the sawmill, kilns and other site areas.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and repair PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI (Human Machine Interface) and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) motor controllers.
  • Work on 600 Volt equipment such as motors and MCCs (Motor Control Centers).
  • Solving problems and working as part of a team focused on machine reliability and breakdown prevention.
  • Other tasks as required or assigned by supervisor.
What You Offer
  • Sound understanding of safe work practices and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on safety.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Post-secondary certification in Certified Industrial Electrician.
  • Strong working knowledge with PLCs.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory legislation.
  • General physical abilities such as climbing stairs and lifting +/- 50 lbs.
  • Excellent flexibility to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work on day and/or night shift, for a duration of 8-13 hours.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be able to take initiative and work efficiently and manage time effectively.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
