Required Experience Needed

Core Competencies Required
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 workloads, and Azure capabilities, with a strong foundation in cloud-based data governance solutions.
  • Data Governance & Security: Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and security best practices to ensure organizational compliance and data integrity.
  • Compliance Expertise: Familiarity with data protection regulations and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and other regional or industry-specific frameworks.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset and troubleshooting abilities to address complex governance and data classification challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams including data architects, business analysts, and cybersecurity professionals.
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency with scripting tools such as PowerShell for automating workflows and integrating Purview capabilities across systems.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Exact Data Match (EDM) for advanced data classification and protection.
Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development & Enforcement: Design, implement, and maintain data policies including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data retention, and sensitive information protection measures.
  • Data Cataloging & Lineage: Build and manage a centralized data catalog, define metadata standards, and establish data lineage to promote transparency and data discoverability.
  • Risk & Compliance Monitoring: Conduct risk assessments, proactively monitor for compliance violations, and implement remediation strategies leveraging Purview’s capabilities.
  • System Integration: Seamlessly integrate Microsoft Purview with Microsoft 365 workloads and other enterprise data sources to enhance governance coverage.
  • Reporting & Insights: Generate actionable insights through reports on data usage, compliance status, and governance gaps to support continuous improvement.
