Job description

Intermediate to Senior Field Lead Biologist / Agrologist (Registered or Eligible for)

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute field-based environmental assessments, monitoring, and reclamation projects.
  • Conduct vegetation, wetland, soil, and wildlife habitat assessments to support regulatory approvals.
  • Provide expertise on soil classification, land capability assessments, erosion control, and revegetation planning.
  • Develop and implement environmental management and mitigation plans for resource development projects.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulatory requirements (BC Oil & Gas Commission, Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Protection and Management Regulation, etc.).
  • Coordinate with clients, government agencies, Indigenous groups, and stakeholders to communicate project requirements and environmental considerations.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, environmental assessments, and regulatory applications.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and field teams, ensuring quality control and adherence to project objectives.
  • Support business development by identifying new project opportunities, preparing proposals, and maintaining client relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
  • Registered (or eligible) as an RPBio or PAg in BC.
  • 5+ years of experience in field-based environmental work, including assessments, monitoring, and reclamation.
  • Proven knowledge of BC and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Strong understanding of soil science, plant ecology, wetland delineation, and habitat assessments.
  • Experience working in oil & gas, forestry, mining, or infrastructure development sectors is an asset.
  • Proficient in GIS applications, data collection tools, and technical reporting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license with a willingness to travel to remote field sites as required.
