Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manual Tester to provide hands‑on software and system‑level testing within a complex, mission‑focused environment. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical abilities, hands‑on debugging experience, and a solid understanding of networked systems and will perform the following duties:

Location: Ottawa, ON

Job Type: Full Time

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive manual testing across software and system components to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain use cases, test cases, and test procedures.
  • Identify, analyze, and debug issues encountered during testing, working collaboratively with developers and system engineers to resolve defects.
  • Support verification activities across interconnected systems, ensuring test coverage in both isolated and integrated environments.
  • Apply a working understanding of network fundamentals to troubleshoot connectivity or configuration issues (no advanced networking certification required).
  • Document test results, defects, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
  • Participate in test planning, design reviews, and project meetings.
  • Contribute to a highly secure and controlled environment in compliance with project and client security requirements.
Qualifications
  • Clearance: Secret (mandatory, must be eligible to apply)
  • Controlled Goods Certification (must be eligible to apply)
  • Language: English
  • 1–3 years of experience in manual testing skills with experience at both software and system levels.
  • Proven debugging and issue‑triage capabilities.
  • Experience writing and executing use cases.
  • General understanding of networking concepts (routing, switching, ports, protocols, etc.).
  • Ability to work full‑time on‑site (5 days per week) in a secure environment.
