The Position

As we continue to grow our EO/SAR based analytics team, we are seeking an Analyst to contribute to the production, analysis, and communication of measurements made from interferometric analyses of mines, oil and gas reservoirs, pipelines, cities, and critical transportation and water infrastructure.

Located in our Ottawa Office the candidate would join a highly motivated team of analysts who provide continuous, operational monitoring to clients around the world. The successful candidate will augment the Analytics team by supporting product development and delivery. The successful candidate may also be involved in other change detection service offerings utilizing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data and evolution of the services utilizing machine learning techniques.

Essential Job Functions
  • Work with a team of geospatial analysts in the execution of InSAR and change detection service projects
  • Generate ground measurement results over mines, oil and gas reservoirs, pipelines, cities, and transportation infrastructure using proprietary methods of InSAR analysis developed by MDA.
  • Produce maps and graphic used for communication of geospatial phenomena using ESRI software and Online tools.
  • Maintain and continue the development of MDA Visualization Portal, and QC/Processing tools.
Required Experience
  • University degree (Bachelors or post‑graduate) with strong physics/mathematics background
  • Courses or experience in programming/scripting
  • Knowledge and experience working with remote sensing and geomatics technologies
  • Knowledge of Digital Signal/Image Processing
  • Strong mathematics and physics skills
  • Computer programming/ scripting skills
Desired Experience
  • Geotechnical or geomatics education discipline is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience working with Satellite based EO data including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
  • Knowledge of Interferometric analysis and applications
  • Knowledge of working with geospatial data and geodatabases
  • Knowledge of Python and /or arcPy, MATLAB, JavaScript
  • Experience in machine learning and related techniques
  • Ability to work to tight schedules
  • Ambition to grow in the organization

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
