Job description

We are currently seeking a project systems integration Intermediate Systems Engineer with 3+ years of experience programming in PLC / HMI / and SCADA for a role for a growing company that is one of the leading automation companies in New Zealand. You would be working for customers integrating automation solutions into systems in such industries as dairy, food and beverage, civil infrastructure and water treatment.

This person must be passionate about the development and implementation of process improvements through the use of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA.

You will need to have demonstrated ability to lead projects and systems integration across functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of manufacturing and process automation solution.

The person must be fully conversant with a range of electrical procedures in the field of factory automation - design, programming, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, research and development.

Programming skills (PLC / HMI / SCADA) of 3+ years experience required with a variety of PLCs such as:

  • Rockwell - Allen-Bradly; ControlLogix / CompactLogix / MicroLogix / SLC series
  • Schnieder M580 and M340
  • Siemens S7-300/1200/1500 series

Experience with designing and programming HMI and SCADA system:

  • Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE for SCADA and ME for HMI
  • Aveva Wonderware System Platform 2014 to 2023 and Intouch SCADA
  • Aveva Citect SCADA and Avea System platform
  • SCADA Platforms - Citect, IFIX, Ignition
Experience
  1. A degree with Mechatronics courses or related field OR
  2. 3+ years experience as a full-time Automation Engineer delivering projects that required both PLC, HMI and SCADA programming.
  3. Experience with the tendering and estimation of projects - Must have done estimates and proposals for client automation projects.
  4. Have experience as a project development engineer building from scratch and integrating new modules into existing company automated systems.li
  5. Must have experience developing code from scratch, writing Functional Descriptions, configuring and fault find historians / Databases, SCADA development, remote alarming, Ignition / System Platform / FTVIEW SE, tool development etc.
  6. Experience in the water, food, pharmaceutical or dairy industries in New Zealand.
  7. Experience with either Allen Bradley or Rockwell.
  8. Must have done estimates and proposals for new client automation system integration projects.
