You'll bring (or be close to achieving) your Field Director qualification in one of the three Culture Areas—ideally the Northwest Coast—and will be based in one of our Lower Mainland offices as you help deliver projects that shape responsible development throughout the region.

Your Impact
  • Lead archaeological field programs, which may include archaeological survey and testing, excavation, or monitoring
  • Work with the project team to achieve the technical requirements and expectations of clients, Indigenous groups, and regulatory agencies
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully with Indigenous communities and their members during all aspects of the project lifecycle
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior project staff
  • Work with the project team to manage scope, schedule, and budget throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain and track health and safety, quality, communication, and documentation for projects
  • Participate in WSP's Health & Safety program, demonstrating a "Safety First" focus and acting as a role model to other staff
  • Undertaking analysis and preparing and contributing to proposals and technical reports
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Field Director status in one or more provincial culture areas (preference for Northwest Coast), or strong field supervision experience with active progress toward Field Director qualification.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to respectful, collaborative engagement with Indigenous groups and communities.
  • Proven experience identifying, recording, and evaluating archaeological sites.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct fieldwork in varied weather conditions and for extended durations.
  • Experience using GPS, handheld tablets, and standard digital data-collection tools; familiarity with ESRI Field Maps is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, paired with a detail-oriented, results-driven mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing interim and final permit reports.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and adherence to high standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethics.
