Job Summary

The Intermediate Interior Designer is an intermediate-level contributor who plays a key role in design development, documentation, and project coordination. The role includes increased responsibility in producing contract documents and contributing to design direction under the guidance of senior staff.

Key Responsibilities
Design and Documentation
  • Develop design ideas and contribute to the evolution of the overall concept.
  • Prepare presentations and design packages with limited oversight.
  • Create and develop detailed drawings and documentation in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Assist with FF&E selections, layouts, and schedules
Project Support and Coordination
  • Coordinate with consultants and disciplines to integrate building systems and interior elements.
  • Assist in contract administration tasks including RFIs, shop drawing review, and site visits.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings.
  • Track and update product specifications and material boards.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the firm’s Project Delivery standards, including proper use of filing systems, adherence to architectural procedures, and compliance with drawing and documentation protocols.
Team and Culture
  • Contribute to a positive studio culture through collaboration and mentorship of junior staff.
  • Be responsive to feedback and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Support knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Able to work in a collaborative, in-office environment (100% in-office presence required to support direct team engagement and effective cross-functional coordination).
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design from a recognized institution.
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Registered Interior Designer in good standing with a provincial interior design association (e.g., AAA, ARIDO, IDA, IDIBC) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong design and detailing skills.
  • Experience with contract documentation and project coordination.
