Job summary

A community service organization located in Sault Ste. Marie is seeking a dedicated individual for a 3-month fixed term contract in a women's residential setting. Qualifications

Contract Details

3-month fixed term contract position, renewal pending funding 35 hours per week at $24.20-$26.51/hr. Must be willing to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and overnights.

Position Overview

JHS has been providing services in the community for 57 years. We are a multi‑service agency that partners with other agencies to improve our community members’ quality of life. The successful candidate will offer support to clients within a 24/7 women’s residential setting, including intake, case management, and referrals. This position will collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate client care. This role will also respect and protect the rights of clients.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have graduated from an accredited college/university in social sciences with a minimum of one‑year experience in the social services field; and must also have:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of disadvantaged youth and adults
  • Demonstrated excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with the use of computer software
  • Valid First Aid/CPR, Naloxone Administration
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Bilingualism would be an asset
