Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Service Manager/Service Advisor to join our in-house mechanic shop team. Most of the work handled in our shop is internal, supporting our used car dealership through inspections, repairs, and reconditioning of inventory. However, we are also looking to expand our retail service business, and we need a team player who can help grow that side while maintaining strong day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage internal repair orders for used vehicle reconditioning and safety inspections.
  • Coordinate efficiently with technicians to prioritize internal work and keep inventory moving.
  • Work closely with the parts advisor to ensure accurate and timely parts sourcing.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for each vehicle serviced.
  • Assist with building retail service business by delivering a great customer experience when walk-ins or retail customers arrive.
  • Support customer sales growth by providing professional estimates, clear explanations, and timely updates on their vehicle service.
  • Help develop and implement processes for handling both internal and customer pay repairs smoothly.
  • Communicate clearly with the sales department to prioritize urgent internal jobs.
  • Proficiency with shop management software and ability to work with technicians, parts, and sales teams.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a service advisor or service writer role (required).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical repairs, used vehicle inspections, and automotive service operations.
  • Experience managing both internal and customer work orders is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with shop management software (e.g., AutoLeap, Repair Order systems).
  • Strong team player with the ability to work closely with technicians, parts, and sales teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
