Your contribution

The specialist technician will be responsible in the field for installing measurement masts, Lidars, and Sodars for wind energy, and for installing measurement stations for solar energy, including their maintenance. They will be responsible for installing and maintaining autonomous power supply systems for these measurement installations.

Your day-to-day
  • With the support of the environmental field technician and the senior resource specialist, install, participate in the installation or coordinate the installation of wind and solar measurement stations and their autonomous power supply systems, and perform maintenance on them;
  • Write accurate reports on equipment installation and maintenance;
  • Coordinate field work with Innergex staff and/or third parties;
  • Maintenance and repair (remote and on-site) of measurement stations;
  • Maintain close communication with Innergex staff to ensure that issues are identified in a timely and consistent manner.
Your skills, our requirements
  • College diploma in networking and telecommunications or other relevant training;
  • The following certifications would be considered an asset: wilderness first aid, ATV/snowmobile training;
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Willing and able to travel to sites, primarily in Eastern Canada, and possibly in Western Canada or the US;
  • Willing to work outdoors, often in remote locations and in all weather conditions;
  • Strong sense of ownership of work and overall team goals;
  • Great attention to detail;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload and quickly change priorities;
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems related to instrumentation, data recording, and telemetry;
  • An interest and/or experience in the renewable energy sector is an asset;
  • Able to read English and communicate effectively to ensure collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec on a recurring basis.

  • The position is based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters, steps away from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
  • This position is a P1 level.
