Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to perform maintenance, install, examine, replace or repair components; troubleshoot manufacturing systems and building services. In addition, you will provide technical support to production teams to support production uptime, ensuring optimal functioning of the production equipment and facilities. This position provides critical support in reducing production downtime, implementing and maintaining maintenance programs, preventive maintenance of equipment, and effective troubleshooting and repair of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs troubleshooting, preventative and predictive, and diagnostic maintenance on production and facility equipment both inside and outside.
  • Completion of work orders and ensure that the repairs have met the quality, safety and sanitation standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure efficient plant operation.
  • Ensures that work orders and all information are entered into the COGZ Maintenance Management Program.
  • Recommends and participates in continuous improvements initiatives to increase operational efficiencies.
  • On-call / After-hours response to emergency equipment breakdowns.
  • Work in a safe manner following all safety rules, PPE, LOTO, Fall Arrest, etc.
  • Assist with general building repairs and maintenance indoor and outdoors as required (carpentry, snow removal from employee entrances, emergency exits, trim and spray weeds as needed).
  • Other duties as assigned by the organization.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of industrial/ manufacturing maintenance experience (food production plant an asset).
  • Mechanical trades licensing an asset but not required (Millwright or other an asset).
  • Very strong mechanical background and abilities to perform various maintenance activities.
  • Other skills to perform building maintenance, carpentry, welding, plumbing, refrigeration mechanic, etc. an asset.
  • Experience in maintaining preventive and ongoing maintenance programs.
  • Working proficiency in CMMS COGZ, plus MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel.
  • Flexibility to respond to issues outside of regular working hours.

Pay Range
