Overview

The Ford Oakville Assembly Complex (OAC) is embarking on a transformative journey to become the Canadian home of the legendary F-Series Super Duty. Responsibilities
  • Develop in depth product knowledge to set up production operations for New Model Vehicle Launch
  • Process extensive complexity and allocations into efficient Cycle Line Layouts and well organized assembly processes
  • Support and maintain quality error proofing strategies
  • Plan and implement labour efficiencies
  • Conduct MODAPTS Time Studies on assembly operations
  • Write effective Operator Instruction Sheets for vehicle assembly which adhere to ergonomic, safety and engineering standards
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve workstation and manpower concerns
  • Work directly with hourly team members, engineering teams, and all levels of company management
  • Interface with production supervision and union leadership to resolve time and method issues
  • Conduct in-depth periodic job observations throughout launch and rebalance actions to ensure Operator Instruction Sheet accuracy and process adherence
  • Support Plant cost reduction and quality improvement efforts
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience conducting time and methods analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with Production, Engineering and Launch teams closely to implement changes and deliver results.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long durations in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including shiftwork, weekends, midnights and overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Industrial engineering experience in automotive assembly or parts manufacturing.
  • MODAPTS Certification.
  • Six Sigma Certification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project & Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences including colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
