Develop and enhance physical operational flows and automation strategies across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in our sorting and loading processes.
Collaborate with facility and operations teams throughout the justification, design, implementation, testing, and go-live phases of new, expanded, and relocated stations.
Play a key role in establishing and refining operating standards for core activities, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Enhance manual sorting processes for small and non-conveyable parcels by improving ergonomics, material handling equipment, and health & safety protocols.
Analyze throughput, operational costs, and quality metrics to define thresholds for sorting based on volume, building specifications, and parcel mix.
Assist operations and procurement teams in the analysis, justification, and selection of diverse material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors.
Interface with automation providers and industry partners to explore innovative solutions that meet short, medium, and long-term operational needs.
Provide insights during the RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes related to automation and material handling equipment.
Regularly visit delivery stations and sortation hubs to understand operations firsthand and secure buy-in from the operations team on key initiatives.
Act as a consultant for operations management teams, offering expertise and guidance.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a graduate degree in engineering, project management, or operations management is a plus.
3-6 years of experience in operational excellence, engineering, or performance improvement roles.
2 years of experience in an automated warehouse or HUB environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with simulation software is a plus.
Advanced skills in Excel, with a detail-oriented and data-driven approach.
Detail-oriented and data-driven, with a proven ability to hold stakeholders accountable.
Willingness to travel to various stations across Canada.
Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
Bilingual in French and English is preferred for effective communication with diverse teams.
