Overview

We are seeking a licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) to support electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of plastics packaging equipment, ensuring reliable operations and production efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician with experience in high-speed manufacturing, packaging, plastics, or food production who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and working with modern industrial systems.

Location and Compensation

Location - Etobicoke, ON

Pay - $42-45+

Shift - Straight Days OR Straight Afternoons

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems supporting automated production equipment
  • Diagnose electrical, control, and instrumentation faults on PLC-controlled machinery
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of production equipment
  • Work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and safety circuits
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams on breakdowns and improvement projects
  • Ensure all work complies with ESA, CSA, and OH&S regulations
  • Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation and maintenance records (CMMS)
Qualifications
  • Valid 442A Industrial Electrician License (Ontario) – required
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (packaging, plastics, extrusion, food & beverage, or high-speed automation preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, controls, and automation systems
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), HMIs, VFDs, and industrial controls
  • Familiarity with high-speed packaging or converting equipment is a strong asset
  • Comfortable working in a team-based, production-driven environment
  • Ability to work shifts and respond to breakdowns as required
