Job summary

A multinational steel company in Whitby is seeking an experienced electrician to troubleshoot and service various electrical systems including motors and cranes. The position requires an Industrial Electrician certificate and offers a competitive hourly rate along with numerous benefits including medical coverage and retirement contributions. Job description

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot AC / DC motors, controls, PLC, electrical drives, low / medium / high voltage systems.


• Service the electrical aspect of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic / pneumatic systems.


• Receive instructions, prints or work orders, covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.


• Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage on computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), work orders, logbooks, and checklists.


• Perform rounds and checks machinery condition using checklists or digital tools to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.


• Operate material handling equipment such as cranes, tow motor operation including rigging.


• Demonstrate basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Electrician - 442A or Construction Electrician - 309A) as recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario is required.
