An Indigenous community council in Ontario is looking for a Liaison to connect with the Canadian Coast Guard. You will enhance marine safety and emergency preparedness for Mushkegowuk communities. Qualifications

  • Ability to facilitate engagement sessions and consultations with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel frequently and on short notice within the Mushkegowuk region.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact between Mushkegowuk Council and the Canadian Coast Guard.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with Mushkegowuk communities.
  • Advance marine awareness and safety initiatives.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response coordination.

Skills

Experience working with Indigenous communities in northern or coastal contexts
Strong understanding of marine safety and emergency management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Cultural competency and respect for Indigenous knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Fluency in the Cree language
