Job summary

A local community organization is seeking In-Home Recreational Volunteers to visit clients once a week for meaningful activities such as conversation and playing games. Summary

In‑Home Recreational volunteers will visit with clients once per week for 1–2 hours to provide meaningful activities.

What you’ll be doing

As a volunteer, you will visit the client’s home once per week to engage them in a meaningful activity such as conversation, walking, reading, playing cards, or another mutually agreed activity that is important to the client.

You will provide companionship and help relieve caregiver burden. The program requires a minimum of 12 continuous weeks of visits, and you will work with your assigned Client Support Coordinator to report observations, comments, or concerns about the client or the match.

Training: General Orientation & Client‑Facing training.

Requirements
  • Willing to undergo a background or police records check.
  • Minimum 16 years old.
  • Flexible schedule supporting weekly visits for at least 12 weeks.
  • Motivation to support individuals living with dementia.
