Job Title: Receptionist (Non‑Clinical) – Diagnostic Imaging, VGH
Location: Winnipeg, Shared Health – Victoria General Hospital
Salary: $21,473 – $24,820
Posting End Date: December 15, 2025

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Manager of Diagnostic Services (or designate), the incumbent provides reception and clerical support for the department and offers additional administrative assistance as required.

Experience
  • Experience in general office procedures is required.
  • Previous experience using the Radiology Information System (RIS) is preferred.
Education
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
  • Completion of a recognized course in Medical Terminology is required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to effectively type at a minimum of 30 words per minute in a VGH typing test.
  • Effective English communication skills (both oral and written) and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize demands and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to interact effectively and maintain positive working relationships with personnel at all levels, both internally and externally, within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and Windows‑based computer systems is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must function effectively in a stressful environment with frequent interruptions.
  • May be asked to escort mobile patients to other areas of the hospital.
Security and Background Checks

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
