Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of employment laws and labour relations practices.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.

Schlegel Villages is excited to announce a brand-new opportunity for a Human Resources / Labour Relations (HR / LR) Partner to join our Support Office team. This Village-facing role will work closely with our leaders across the Villages providing hands-on HR and LR support to help them thrive in their roles and serve their teams. Created in alignment with the growth of our organization this position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact. Youll be supported by our Sr. Director of Labour Relations and be part of a collaborative team dedicated to fostering strong partnerships and a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve in a Village facing capacity; supporting initial grievances investigations attendance management and WSIB
  • Assist in the interpretation and application of collective agreements
  • Support a learning environment that builds labour relations and human resources capacity in leaders
  • Develop monitor and analyze metrics to identify trends risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Support the advancement of strategic people priorities across the organization
  • Collaborate with the broader People team on operational goals and initiatives
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Labour Relations, Human Resources or a related discipline is an asset.
  • 24 years of experience in labour relations and / or human resources.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and labour relations practices.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
Travel Requirements
  • This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site and / or weekly travel to our Villages.
