A leading biofuels company in Welland is seeking a part-time HR Generalist. This role includes managing HR operations, overseeing payroll, and assisting with recruitment and employee onboarding. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Human Resources, a good understanding of labor laws, and prior experience in the biofuels sector. The HR Generalist will be an integral part of the Verbio HR North America team and is primarily responsible to administer all Human Resources related functions within Verbio Diesel Canada and its production plant.
This position will report directly to the Head of HR for North America with a dotted line to the VDC plant President. This is a part-time hourly position.
This role operates in both an office and manufacturing plant environment. When present in the plant, the employee must be able to wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include flame-resistant (FR) clothing, safety glasses, hard hat, safety-toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves.
The position involves primarily office-based work, including prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, as well as regular movement throughout the facility. This may include standing, walking on the production floor, and transitioning between sitting, standing, and walking as needed during the workday.

VERBIO Diesel Canada is the 45 million gallon per year biodiesel facility located in Welland, Ontario (Canada). The plant is a wholly owned subsidiary of VERBIO SE and has been operating since August 2019. The plant is currently designed to run on canola and soybean oil and produces crude glycerin and biodiesel transportation fuel as outputs. We are currently developing plans to eventually double the nameplate capacity of the plant, accept different types of feedstocks, and implement several of VERBIO’s proprietary technologies, including crude oil refining and crude glycerin distillation.
