Position Overview

The Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Murphy’s Pharmacies by providing HR guidance and frontline support to pharmacy managers and team members. This role blends relationship‑building, coaching, and problem‑solving with a strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation, and the unique demands of pharmacy operations. The HR Coordinator ensures consistent people practices across locations, fosters a positive workplace culture, and helps drive organizational performance through effective talent management.

Your Role

While we all collaborate to provide services and hospitality to our team members and clients, we all play different roles to make this happen. You’ll contribute by:

Team Relations
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for pharmacy locations, providing guidance on team member relations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Responds to routine administrative inquiries and provides information and assistance with a variety of team and management questions related to policies, pay, benefits, etc.
  • Coach managers on performance management, documentation, and progressive discipline for team members.
  • Support pharmacy‑level implementation of performance review processes and tools.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace concerns, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Identify talent gaps and collaborate with managers, the support team and recruiting on succession planning for key roles.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of position profile documents.
  • Collaborate with other business division leaders to align policy and practice where applicable.
Training & Development
  • Assess training needs across locations and collaborate on solutions to strengthen leadership capability and team performance.
  • Facilitate training sessions on HR policies, communication and workplace culture.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to employment standards, privacy legislation, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Support incident reporting, return to work planning, and workplace accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality when handling sensitive team member issues.
Culture, Engagement & Change Management
  • Champion a positive, inclusive, and high‑performance culture across all pharmacy locations.
  • Support team member engagement initiatives and action planning.
  • Assist with organizational changes, ensuring clear communication and smooth transitions.
  • Assist in the coordination, execution, and analysis of team surveys.
HR Operations & Reporting
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, programs, and processes.
  • Participate in cross‑functional projects that support business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of HR experience, ideally in a multi‑site retail, healthcare, or service environment.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting leaders remotely and in person.
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to Pharmacy locations.
  • A CPHR designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset.
