Job description

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a critical role in aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent. This role is responsible for assessing and anticipating HR-related needs and proactively developing integrated solutions that drive business results.

Responsibilities

Talent Management & Development:

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle from job posting to onboarding in Oracle HCM
  • Collaborate with managers to identify skills gaps and develop training and development plans to enhance employee capabilities.
  • Support leadership development initiatives and assist with succession planning to ensure a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Assist in onboarding and integration of new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.

Strategic HR Partnership:

  • Participates in managing HR data within Oracle, specifically Onboarding, Core HR and Time-Off modules.
  • Assists with maintaining interdependence between Oracle, ADP and OBS and (e.g., Oracle, Payroll).
  • ISO Audit Documentation Preparation and analyzes data to ensure data integrity and works with employee on data resolution.
  • Supports day-to-day Talent operations including CAD Rails vacation tool, Pre-hire Compliance site. Supports enhancements of existing HR systems by participating in system testing as and when we customize HRIS.
  • Update SOP’s and run the yearly Performance Appraisal program successfully across the department.
  • Supports large data change activities such as mass uploads, mass salary changes, promotions, and large intakes of hires).

Employee Relations & Compliance:

  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and collective agreements where applicable.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate actions in alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Experience with STD/LTD claims, workplace injury reporting (WSIB)
  • Supports the Team on various projects and key initiatives throughout the year (e.g., Benefits, Leave /Vacation Program, RRSP)
  • Support performance review processes and run the year Performance Appraisal Program
  • Advise managers on pay and benefits decisions in alignment with company policies and budget considerations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or equivalent HR designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of HR experience, with at least 2+ years in a business partner or advisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is MUST.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
