Job description

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this full-time role will be responsible for HR administration, benefits management, recruitment coordination, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not limited to:

HR Support & Administration:

  1. Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRIS data.
  2. Assist with employee onboarding, including new hire documentation, background checks, and orientation.
  3. Support compliance with employment laws, policies, and procedures.
  4. Provide administrative support in HR projects and initiatives.

Benefits & Employee Relations:

  1. Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, updates, and responding to inquiries.
  2. Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, benefits, and programs.
  3. Assist in tracking and reporting on employee leave, accommodations, and other HR matters.
  4. Support employee engagement initiatives and coordinate corporate events.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:

  1. Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
  2. Develop and update job descriptions and job requisitions.
  3. Support recruitment and retention strategies in collaboration with the HR team.

Health & Safety Support:

  1. Assist in maintaining and enforcing occupational health and safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
  2. Support workplace injury investigations, OH&S audits, and incident tracking.
  3. Coordinate and track employee safety training such as First Aid, WHMIS, and H2S.
  4. Ensure compliance with provincial and federal OH&S regulations.
  5. Participate in occupational health and safety meetings and assist in implementing safety initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  1. 1-3 years of experience in an HR role.
  2. A degree or diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration (or equivalent work experience).
  3. Experience with HRIS and time-tracking systems (familiarity with Paycor, Dayforce, or similar HRIS- time tracking payroll platforms is an asset).
  4. Knowledge or experience in OH&S policies and workplace safety programs is a plus.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach.
  6. Capable of handling confidential, sensitive, and personal information.
  7. Strong planning and organization skills to determine priorities with strict deadlines.
  8. Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and adaptability.
  11. Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision, collaborate, interact, and build effective relationships across and at all levels of the organization.
  12. Ability to travel within Saskatchewan including to Spiritwood, SK.
