Description

The Human Factors Engineering Associate Specialist opening is a current vacant position at General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada. The base salary hiring range for this position is $59,200 to $77,700 per year. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the full salary range based on performance.

This range reflects the base salary only and does not include additional components of our total compensation package, such as our incentive award program and other rewards like health benefits, employee profit-sharing, retirement savings, and more. Job Description

The Human Factors Engineering (HFE) role is involved throughout the design process including requirements development, concept development, and final design development being responsible for performing analyses and presenting the results and recommendations during sub-system and system design to facilitate the effective and safe performance by vehicle occupants. HFE role works closely with a variety of personnel to ensure that HFE contract requirements and/or system/sub-system specifications are met.

Key Job Elements
  • Collaborate with design teams to include Human Factors Engineering (HFE) / ergonomic input into vehicle design development
  • Conduct, as required, HFE analyses to support recommendations for design changes
  • Evaluate customer requirements for HFE and determine vehicle compliance
  • Support System Engineering Department in development of the System Specification Document
  • Plan and conduct HFE testing, as required, to determine compliance to contract and/or System Specification Document
  • Generate, as required, HFE reports
Required Qualifications
  • University Degree in Systems Design Engineering, Human Factors, or Ergonomics
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space Experience in Human Factors/Ergonomics in product design
