Job Description

Position type: Full-time - Permanent. Schedule: 40 hours per week. Start date: January 2026. Workplace: Québec City / St-Gabriel-de-Valcartier.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is looking to strengthen its Québec region team by welcoming an OHS Technician who will contribute to monitoring the prevention program on a 200-hectare rehabilitation site. The technician will also support the industrial security component and may occasionally be involved in environmental aspects.

Your Role
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the organization's prevention and OHS management system program.
  • Prepare action plans, present to various stakeholders, manage different registers, etc.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with Québec regulations (RSST, LSST, CSTC).
  • Participate in internal HSE and security audits.
  • Support operations in accident investigation and analysis processes, recommend and follow up on corrective measures in EcoOnline EHS.
  • Train, raise awareness, and assist managers, supervisors, and workers.
  • Integrate prevention into project planning and execution.
  • Draft and conduct risk analyses related to environment, industrial hygiene, and safety (JSA, lockout/tagout, chemicals, ergonomics).
  • Contribute to OHS committees and promote a culture of prevention and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate site industrial security with the site manager and security officers: patrol planning, incident management, coordination with emergency services and civil authorities, TrackTic tool, interaction and collaboration with military police (neighboring site), and other related tasks.
  • Manage environmental incidents: reporting and follow-up.
About You
  • College diploma (DEC) in Environment, Industrial Hygiene, and Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent field (e.g., OHS certificate).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in construction or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of Québec OHS laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in occupational hygiene concepts (noise, air quality, chemicals, ergonomics).
  • Good knowledge of hazardous energy control.
  • Excellent communication skills, autonomy, and positive leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • ASP Construction card or in progress.
  • Assets: workplace first aid certification, experience managing contractors.
