Position Summary

North America Construction (1993) Ltd. – NAC Constructors Ltd. (NAC) is well known for its expertise in water and wastewater construction across Canada. Our self-performing team of almost 500 skilled professionals handles projects from conceptualization to delivery, covering civil, structural, process mechanical, building mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work. NAC prioritises the highest level of quality and safety. We are currently seeking a Junior HSE Advisor, initially based at our Waste Water Treatment Plant project in Innisfil, ON, and eventually also supporting our Water Treatment plant project in Huntsville, ON.

Job Duties
  • Provide HSE guidance, support and oversight to the Project and its personnel
  • Address personnel’ inquiries on HSE risks and opportunities
  • Assist with maintenance of HSE documents and ensure timely and accurate HSE record keeping
  • Coordinate HSE orientation and training delivery
  • Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment
  • Support personnel in understanding, applying and adhering to Safe Work Practices and Procedures
  • Foster the Toolbox process and other HSE communication efforts
  • Participate in HSE inspections and incident management, as required
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent preferred
  • Environmental experience/certification is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Provincial Health & Safety legislation and standards
  • Prior work experience in Construction is an asset
  • Proven ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and records
  • Service and team-oriented leader who pays specific attention to detail
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills
  • Tact, diplomacy, flexibility, listening and persuasion skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with enthusiasm and a positive, results‑focused attitude
  • Experience with database applications and administration systems is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Valid WHMIS, First Aid, Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers and/or Supervisors certificates are required
