The HR Director, Supply Chain Operations - Transport directs a team of HRBP’s and TAS’s supporting Transport Operations Nationally. This role provides mentorship, support and leadership to the team in all facets of HR including engagement, leadership planning, recruitment, organization design and efficiency, compensation and HR standard methodologies.

Please note we are open to candidates in Ontario (Greater Toronto Area) or the Calgary area. There is also occasional travel required for this role approximately 10%.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and maintain a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, mentoring, team building, and leadership planning.
  • Operate as a key enabler to the business, as it drives Blue Culture and our b3 initiative – counsel, guide, facilitate, and allow the business to lead and drive.
  • Support a results‑driven, dedicated division/region, through role transparency, compensation management, mentoring, training and development.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong internal relationships with key business leaders and collaborators.
  • Participate as a key member of the management team helping to determine and achieve the business unit’s objectives.
  • Develop, lead and support the implementation of leadership development and management training initiatives to support and improve organizational performance and alignment.
  • Serve as a mentor and confidante to leaders around people and organizational issues and leadership development.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Directors from the DC based teams, ensuring alignment across supply chain operations on people strategy, plans and tactics.
  • Enable and drive robust succession planning processes and discipline at multiple levels, and coach leaders on related development opportunities.
  • Be a key strategic member of the HR team, developing dynamic HR strategies and policies.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Change Management initiatives.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.
What You'll Need:
  • Post‑secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • CHRP designation or post‑graduate degree an asset.
  • Minimum 7+ plus years of multifaceted leadership experience in HR with proven expertise in the area of client relation management including senior level.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure situations that require timely and sound decision making and may involve confidential or sensitive matters.
  • An entrepreneurial and customer service related mindset, enabling the growth of our supply chain service options in your business partners and their teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills and high professional standards for customer service and work quality.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally or through written documents.
  • Significant Supply Chain, retail and corporate business and financial savvy is a very meaningful asset, as well as general HR and Labour Relations functional knowledge.
  • Provides solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required.
  • Display willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, and make timely decisions.
  • Willingness and proficiency to work independently, with a high degree of personal accountability and drive.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Digital literacy skills to produce and interpret reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of HR related principles and best working practices and procedures, employment standards legislation and other regulatory requirements.
  • Travel is required for the role.
