About the Part‑Time HR Coordinator Role

The HR Coordinator supports Essential HR’s Senior HR Business Partners by providing reliable, detail‑focused coordination and administrative support across multiple client files. This role helps ensure HR projects move forward smoothly, deadlines are met, and clients receive consistent, high‑quality service. Working closely with two Senior HR Business Partners, the HR Coordinator plays a key role in recruitment coordination, HR documentation, and administrative execution.

This role is primarily remote, with onsite client presence required occasionally. Preference will be given to candidates located in the Niagara to Kitchener‑Waterloo area.

Main Responsibilities / Duties
  • Support recruitment activities, including drafting job postings, coordinating interviews, preparing offer documentation, and tracking candidate progress
  • Prepare, format, and maintain HR documentation such as employee policies, SOPs, and internal templates
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support onboarding, offboarding, and HRIS updates
  • Coordinate payroll inputs and documentation
  • Support health and safety administration, including training tracking, documentation, and record maintenance
  • Conduct legislative research and assist with client file audits under guidance to support compliance initiatives

Schedule

This role is part‑time, with a guaranteed minimum of 15 hours per week. While hours are expected to remain at this level for the next six months, there may be periods where additional hours are available based on project needs.

There are no set daily work hours; however, flexibility is required to support client and candidate availability, as well as internal meetings held Monday to Thursday during standard daytime business hours.

Compensation

$20–$25/hour, commensurate with experience and depth of human resources knowledge.
