Human Resources Business Partner – Western Canada

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to provide strategic and operational human resources leadership across the organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this role partners with senior leaders and managers to support business objectives through effective people strategies, sound employment practices, and a strong commitment to organizational values. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast‑paced, complex environment and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, judgment, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees by providing expert guidance on talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, policy interpretation, and workforce planning.
  • Lead full‑cycle recruitment activities, including workforce planning support, job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and offers.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and collective agreements.
  • Interpret and apply applicable employment legislation, including Human Rights legislation and Employment Standards, and provide accurate guidance to leaders, employees, and contractors.
  • Interpretation of collective agreements and support of union‑related strategies.
  • Partner with leaders to diagnose organizational and workforce challenges, develop people‑focused solutions, and support the execution of action plans.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, performance management processes, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Foster strong employee relations and promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture across multiple locations.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records within HRIS/HRMS systems and ensure data integrity and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience in an HR Business Partner role, including experience in labour relations and unionized environments.
  • Strong functional expertise in employee relations, performance management, organizational design, coaching and development, diversity and inclusion, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach leaders, apply sound business judgment, and implement people solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong facilitation and mediation capabilities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ADP HRIS system considered an asset.
