Job summary

A community hospital in Ontario is seeking a full-time Hospitalist to provide comprehensive medical care for adult patients. Hospitalist - Full Time

Brockville General Hospital is a progressive, 148 bed, community hospital with > 4,000 admissions annually, serving a regional catchment population of 96,000.

Brockville (pop. 22,000) is conveniently located along hwy. 401, on the St. Lawrence River, in the beautiful 1000 Islands region; 75 km E of Kingston, 110 km S of Ottawa.

Practice Profile
  • Ø MRP care for Adult medical in patients
  • Ø Provision of medical care and support for surgical / restorative / rehab in patients
  • Ø 1 week on / 1 week off rotation with 1:2 weekday / 1:3 weekend On Call
  • Ø Queen’s University affiliation– academic appointment /participation in post graduate education
Staffing / Hospital Resources
  • Ø 2.5 FTE Hospitalists + 1 Physician Assistant (Mon – Fri)
  • Ø 2 Hospitalists Sat / Sun
  • Ø On Call Physician 1700 – 0700 hrs
  • Ø Local Primary Care Physicians participate in On Call coverage
  • Ø Electronic Health Record with Physician Order Entry & remote systems access
  • Ø CT / PACs / Bedside Ultra Sound
  • Ø 9 Bed, ICU / SDU ( Level III) – Internists provide patient care and coverage
  • Ø Full complement of surgical specialist backup available locally
  • Ø Access to tertiary care services in Kingston and Ottawa
Qualifications
  • Ø CCFP and Independent registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  • Ø ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Certification

  • Ø Experience with / interest in Program Development and Implementation preferred
Remuneration
  • Ø Fee For Service with $1,000 daily income guarantee
  • Ø $350 / weekday $700 /weekend On Call Stipend
  • Ø $750 / Day for Restorative / Rehab Care Rotation - 4 days / week – NO Call
  • Ø opportunity for ER / Family Practice Locum and surgical assist
