Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team! In this role you will get to repair and maintain heavy equipment, utilizing your hands‑on experience in equipment operation at the Faro Mine Complex. We are looking for a detail‑oriented individual who can efficiently troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues while ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed.

Local Candidates Preferred but open to candidates on a fly‑in/fly‑out rotational basis.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Work with management to pre‑plan and schedule daily and overall heavy equipment maintenance and repair to prevent functional breakdowns.
  • Perform diagnostics, repair, preventative maintenance, and safety checks on all heavy equipment.
  • Maintain heavy equipment maintenance and repair records.
  • Physically secure equipment to ensure safety during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain and repair equipment hydraulic systems.
  • Determine methods and sequence of troubleshooting, repair operations, and modifications to equipment by working from manufacturer’s manuals, drawings, specifications, installation layouts and sketches, and verbal or written instructions.
  • Perform typical operations such as dismantling, diagnosing problem cause, repairing, mechanical servicing, and reassembling, installing and testing operations of assigned equipment.
  • Replace worn or broken parts, make adjustments and alignments as required, clean areas, and prepare equipment for full service.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic journey person with Provincial or Red Seal with 5 at least years experience.
  • Proficient with basic computer systems including Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications; previous exposure to CMMS systems is an advantage.
  • Experienced in using mechanical tools of the trade, including diagnostic tools; extensive experience in hydraulics.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and manufacturer diagrams and manuals, and follow written and verbal instructions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s licence with clean abstract.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work away from home for up to 21 days and in adverse conditions.
  • Ability to work productively both within a team and when working alone; strong customer service skills.
