We are recruiting for the Safety Advisor to cover the Okanagan region for a leading manufacturing client. If you are an advisor who is able to work remotely and has a passion for manufacturing and safety, we’d like to hear from you!
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Health Sciences, or a related field (BASc preferred)
- Master’s degree in Occupational & Environmental Hygiene or a relevant science field is an asset
- Strong training in OHS regulations, policy and program development; coaching and mentorship experience preferred
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in OHS advisory or consulting
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education will be considered
- Experience in diverse manufacturing environments such as food & beverage, wood products processing, or metal fabricating is a strong asset
- Working knowledge of applicable WorkSafeBC and BC OHS Regulations, CSA Standards, and COR or ISO audit standards and guidelines

- Strong awareness of organizational dynamics and the challenges of safety program implementation and compliance
- Ability to understand how safety issues may impact employee performance and conduct at work
- Acts as a resource, coach, and mentor to inter-professional teams in workplace health and safety
- Skilled at identifying learning needs and applying adult education concepts to plan, design, and deliver safety training programs
- Successful track record in consulting with workplace contacts, teams, and business leadership on safety initiatives
