Handy Helpers Volunteer

Make‑Wish Canada operates as an independent branch of Make‑Wish International, dedicated to making a profound impact on the lives of children facing critical illnesses. The organization’s mission revolves around turning the dreams of eligible children into a reality, recognizing that a wish is an integral part of their treatment journey. Make‑Wish stands as a leading global organization, dedicated to fulfilling the heartfelt wishes of children in 50 different countries. In Canada, children in every community, spanning from coast to coast, are served. Since 1983, Make‑Wish Canada has granted over 37,000 wishes throughout the country.

Volunteering for Make A Wish Canada
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application (some exceptions for events may be made; email volunteers@makeawish.ca if under the age of 18)
  • No set hours – volunteers choose when and where they would like to help
  • Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of two wishes or events per year
  • Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination is required in the following programs: wish granting, in‑office, members of the national board of directors and the chapter advisory boards
  • A criminal background check is required as part of the initial onboarding process
  • Seeking enthusiastic, caring, and committed volunteers dedicated to helping fulfill the Mission, Vision, and Values of Make‑Wish Canada
