Job description
Grocery Order Picker (permanent + contract available)

The Order Picker is responsible for manually filling customer orders in the Warehouse, while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations. This position will be aware of all aspects of the general Warehouse operation, and may also be required to perform additional warehouse-related tasks as needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Pick products as indicated on individual pick lists.
  • Place products on pallet such that they are stable, secure, and well-balanced.
  • Be familiar with warehouse layout, including directional access and location codes.
  • Meet and exceed expectations related to accuracy and productivity.
  • Adhere to safety standards, both in equipment use and in picking procedures.
  • Learn and follow steps to choose correct pallet for different customers.
  • Follow procedures when product is out-of-stock.
  • Place pallets in correct staging area (for QC to check or for shipping).
  • As directed, wrap pallets and prepare for shipping.
  • Complete paperwork as required (pallet tags, tracking paperwork, etc.).
  • Learn and follow spill clean-up procedures.
Qualifications + Expectations
  • Minimum 1-year picking case-sized items preferred.
  • Experience using warehouse equipment (i.e. ride-on pallet mover) is preferred.
  • Solid attention to detail and experience palletizing product of varying shapes and sizes is required.
  • Ability to work independently and stay on track to meet productivity goals.
  • High level of physical ability and endurance, including ability to lift up to 55lbs.
  • Repeated lifting, bending, twisting, standing, reaching.
  • Knowledge of warehouse (distribution) operations and flow.
Compensation + Working Conditions

We have a full-time, permanent position and a full-time contract position; the schedule for both is Monday through Friday on the afternoon shift (3-11pm). The starting wage is $22.65 / hour with a $1 / hour premium for hours worked after 9pm. We have scheduled wage increases based on hours worked and an annual company-wide Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) wage review.
