Location: Vancouver, BC | Ottawa, ON | Calgary, AB | Halifax, NS. Work model: Hybrid. Salary range: CA$56,000.00 / yr – CA$84,000.00 / yr.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Research and write grant applications primarily for our support programs (e.g., Lodges, Wheels of Hope) destined for non-government agencies and foundations, with the possibility of federal and provincial government programs.
- Gather information and content necessary to support grant applications by conducting research via external sources (e.g., online medical journals) and working with internal CCS teams.
- Maintain a grant tracking database and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop, submit and manage applications for grants that align with institutional initiatives and areas of key interest.
- Set target dates for information sourcing, writing, review, approval and submission to ensure grant deadlines are met.
- Manage a list of works cited in grant applications through EndNote.
- Ensure grant applications and supporting documents are error-free and adhere to guidelines.
- In times of reduced campaign activity, research and write other solicitation and stewardship materials (e.g., gift renewal letters, appreciation letters, donor email templates).
- Stay up to date on CCS resources to ensure written documents are on brand and aligned with CCS priorities.
- Support the development of impact report writing.
- Build internal relationships across CCS to gather timely information on current and potential impact of donor support, content verification and approvals.
- Monitor external markets and continually assess cross-industry best practice to enhance grant opportunities and drive growth.
- Support positive relationships with external stakeholders.
- Contribute to a safe and compliant work environment in line with Health & Safety policies.
- Contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree (master’s degree preferred).
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a not-for-profit organization or academic institution.
- Experience in developing and submitting grant applications.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal government grants and foundation funding opportunities.
- Exceptional research, editing and writing skills.
- Innovative thinker with ability to engage and motivate supporters.
- Ability to develop and maintain trusted working relationships in a national, matrix-managed organization.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively to drive performance and results.
- Excellent organizational, project management and analytical skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with open communication and collaboration values.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce and EndNote are assets; bilingualism (French / English) is highly preferred.
