Job description

MDSearch is seeking a GP-Anesthetist to join Inuvik Regional Hospital, supporting operative services and emergency care. While the ideal candidate may also contribute to clinic and ER, the core requirement is GP-Anesthesia skills.

Scope of Practice
  • Procedural sedations (including a high-caliber endoscopy program)
  • General anesthesia for pediatric dental cases
  • Elective procedures including cesarean sections
  • Visiting specialist cases
  • Epidurals
  • Emergency anesthesia for patients of all ages
Compensation

Hourly rate (no fee for service), along with on‑call remuneration.

Requirements
  • CCFP with GP-Anesthesia training (required)
  • Eligible for NWT licensure
Benefits
  • Travel and accommodations fully covered (meals not included)
  • Travel stipend up to $3,000 for locums travelling to Inuvik (for start dates between Jan 5 – March 31, based on travel time)
  • Locum blocks are typically 1–2 weeks, with longer assignments available
