Hatch is seeking a dynamic and energetic Government Relations Analyst to join the Government Relations group. Reporting to the Director, Government Relations, you will support offices globally working from our Mississauga, Ontario office location.

The Government Relations Analyst supports the organization’s advocacy efforts by monitoring legislative developments, analyzing policy impacts, and engaging with government stakeholders to advance strategic objectives.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Utilize advanced Excel expertise to consolidate and manage data from diverse sources into a streamlined, centralized database
  • Lead the planning and flawless execution of events, overseeing all stages from concept to completion to deliver exceptional experiences
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory changes
  • Prepare briefing notes, reports, and presentations for leadership
  • Support development of advocacy strategies and campaigns
  • Coordinate meetings with government officials and industry associations
  • Maintain compliance with lobbying and disclosure requirements

You bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy and Administration, Government Relations, Law, Communications, or a related field from an accredited University
  • Master’s degree in Public Policy or related discipline is considered an asset
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in economics, government relations, public affairs, or policy analysis
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Excel, CRM systems, and database management
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and synthesize political, economic, and regulatory data; including tracking and reporting meetings and outcomes
  • Policy and Legislative Analysis: Interpret and analyze legislation, regulations, and political trends
  • Government Processes Knowledge: Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks
  • Compliance & Ethics: Knowledge of lobbying regulations and ethical standards
  • Strategic Thinking: Develop advocacy strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain networks with government officials, industry associations, and stakeholders
  • Negotiation & Diplomacy: Advocate effectively while fostering positive relationships
  • Project & Event Management: Organize campaigns, stakeholder meetings, and government relations events efficiently
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication for preparing briefs, reports, and presentations; bilingual (English/French) strongly preferred
  • Critical Thinking & Decision Making: Evaluate complex issues, prioritize actions based on risk and opportunity
  • Adaptability: Respond effectively to evolving political environments
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners

Compensation:

Range: $80,000.00 - $83,000.00

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
