The Role

As a Geotechnical Design Draftsperson, you will join the team in supporting geotechnical projects from the proposal stage through to completion. In this role, you will be involved in the design and drafting of small to large geotechnical projects, including the preparation of report figures and preliminary, tender, and construction drawing packages. You will contribute to ensuring that drawing development adheres to company and client drafting standards, with a focus on quality assurance and meeting project schedules.

The position will also involve performing basic calculations and presenting them in a clear and organized manner, managing project data such as drawing files, models, topographic surveys, and design calculations, and assisting with drawing production, plotting, and final delivery in support of the overall project team.

About You

To fill the role, we’re looking for an applicant to bring forward a mix of qualifications and previous experience. Some highlights could include:

  • Diploma in CAD or Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary Institute
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in Civil Design Drafting with demonstrated technical abilities
  • Tech. and/or C.E.T. registration in Manitoba would be an asset
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 2020 or later version
  • Knowledge of MicroStation Software
  • Intermediate knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D would be an asset
  • The ability to work efficiently and effectively with a team and as an individual
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • May occasionally be required to work overtime.
