Overview

General Practitioner in Medical Oncology - BC Cancer - Vernon

Vernon, BC — Regular, Part-time (Flexible FTE). Join BC Cancer’s Vernon Oncology team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, located in British Columbia’s beautiful Southern Interior Region. Reporting to the Department Head of Medical Oncology at BC Cancer – Kelowna, the GPO will be part of a well-established and friendly team of Medical Oncologists and GPOs in Vernon, and within the growing regional and provincial GPO network, providing opportunities for networking and education.

Responsibilities
  • Work with a team of specialized medical oncologists and allied health professionals to care for Oncology patients.
  • Participate in the treatment and follow-up of patients after curative and palliative treatment planning.
  • Engage in clinical trials, as opportunities arise.

FTE for this position is flexible. Service contract and salary options are available.

Qualifications
  • Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP).
  • Eligibility for appointment to medical staff of BC Cancer and Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
  • Eligibility for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
  • In-patient and oncology experience is an asset but not required; BC Cancer will support your training through didactic virtual teaching and in-clinic patient-related instruction.
