Job summary

A recruiting firm is seeking an accounting professional in Edmonton to handle full-cycle accounting and support month-end processes. We are seeking a highly capable accounting professional to support financial operations and month-end processes in a dynamic, manufacturing or product-based environment. The successful candidate will handle full-cycle accounting tasks, ensure accurate reporting, and provide reliable, audit-ready financial information to support operational and project decision-making. This role requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver timely results with a high level of accuracy.

1-month contract with potential of extension
Hours 8am – 5pm in the office
NW Edmonton
Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and monthlybank reconciliations across CAD and USD accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare and postjournal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Supportmonth-end close processes, including preparation of IFRS-aligned working papers and supporting schedules.
  • Reconcileinventory, COGS, and other manufacturing-related accounts, ensuring accurate project and operational reporting.
  • Assist withaccounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-dateQuickBooks Online records, including data entry, adjustments, and reporting.
  • Monitorfinancial activity and cash flow to identify potential issues and assist with resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support financial reporting and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing and organizing required documentation and reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities tostreamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5+ years of general accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, product-based, or multi-entity organizations.
  • Strong expertise inbank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end closing.
  • Familiarity withmulti-currency accounting and the impact of foreign exchange on financial statements.
  • Knowledge ofIFRS month-end reporting requirements.
  • Experience managinginventory, COGS, and other operational accounts.
  • Proficient inQuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online and advancedExcel skills (PivotTables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Ability towork independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Highlydetail-oriented, reliable, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate with finance, operations, and project teams.
  • Demonstrated ability tosupport audits and prepareaccurate, audit-ready financial documentation.
