Job summary

A childcare organization is seeking a full-time childcare practitioner to join their team in Chesterfield. Job description

Full time practitioner needed - Heath, Chesterfield

We are looking for a full time childcare practitioner to join our team.

The position is for 37.5 hours per week but sometimes we may ask staff to do extra hours. It will be a temporary contract with a chance of being made permanent.

We run a nursery that cares for children aged 0-11. We are open 7:30am - 6:00pm, Monday-Friday, all year round. We close for bank holidays and Christmas. We provide childcare for 0-3s as well as running a breakfast and afterschool club for children aged 3-11. The job vacancy we have will be based with the 0-3s but sometimes staff are needed to be in other rooms with different ages. We have a close link to the adjoining school.

Job roles will include:

• To assist the room leader with the day‑to‑day running of the room
• Being a key person to a number of children
• Working in our breakfast and afterschool club (ages 3‑11)
• Observing, planning and working with the EYFS
• Working alongside other practitioners
• Working as part of a team
• Qualified to Level 3 or above
• Some experience of working with children
• Good understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage
• Knowledge of child development

Staff members are required to do training, attend courses and participate in staff meetings which all may be out of our working hours.
