A midwifery practice in Esquimalt is seeking two full-time midwives to provide comprehensive care. Responsibilities include participating in home and hospital births while working collaboratively with a dedicated team. Candidates must be registered midwives with a commitment to care for diverse populations. This role offers the chance to engage with the community and participate in events.
About us:
Earthside Birth is located on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations communities. We are a full scope midwifery practice with four IBCLC on staff, and complementary therapists including pelvic floor physiotherapy and acupuncture. Our beautiful clinic is located in West Bay Esquimalt; the office has natural light, ocean views, and two comfortable clinic rooms. We currently work in two teams. We regularly hold classes and events to build connections within our community, striving to provide the best care and experience we can to our clients. We celebrate the diversity of the families we serve and dedicate space for clients from underserved populations. Our experienced MOA and strong administrative framework supports the smooth running of our clinic. We have collegial interprofessional relationships and a long waitlist of clients! Electronic clinic charting is hosted on OSCAR, and Victoria General Hospital uses Powerchart.
We are seeking two full-time midwives to join our practice. Call shifts are 24 hours long, and each midwife does one clinic day a week (you can enjoy your lunch breaks walking the Songhees walkway just steps from our door connected to the marina)! Our caseload is decided by the team dependant on holidays and preferences among the team.
About you:
You are a Registered Midwife in good standing, with a commitment to clinical excellence and teamwork. Preferably at least 3 years of experience as a registered midwife. You have a passion for working with diverse populations, and your communication is clear and professional. You have strong interprofessional relationships and are comfortable with both home and hospital birth.
Please direct your letter of interest and CV to the contact information below. We look forward to meeting you!
