Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance and Business Insights, the Financial Analyst is a key member of the Nature’s Way Business Insights Team. The role interprets and transforms data into insights to inform the Nature’s Way Canada team on external demand and factors influencing the market. It is highly collaborative and serves as a connection point between Finance and the Demand Teams (Sales, Innovation and Marketing). The analyst gathers, synthesizes, and provides information and recommendations to drive profitable topline growth and tell a story through data. This role is ideally hybrid, reporting to the Dartmouth, NS office.

Summary Description & Job Responsibilities
  • Interpret external market data (e.g., Nielsen, Amazon, Homescan, industry portals such as GOED and Mintel, material commodity reporting (Mintec), macro-economic factors (inflation, prevalence of illnesses), and various customer portals).
  • Create monthly insights package that analyzes highlights and lowlights and communicates recommendations to senior management.
  • Upload raw data into Power BI tools using Power Query and other methods.
  • Perform Customer and Brand Profitability P&L statements and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Perform Financial Profitability Assessments for promotional plans by customer and/or brand to ensure positive ROI with respect to trade spend.
  • Complete post-promotion evaluation analysis and report KPI results, success factors, and opportunities for improvement to key stakeholders.
  • Support Month End with Co-op trade spend assessments to ensure effective accounting of promotions.
  • Support the Innovation team with competitive reviews of New Product Developments, focusing on potency, format, price per dose, and SRP pricing vs competing items.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, and Innovation with ad hoc reporting requests using Power BI and Analysis for Excel tools.
  • Support the Business Insights team with ad hoc requests related to the scope of the role.
Required Qualifications
  • University degree in Data Analytics, Business or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in performing analysis within a CPG environment where data synthesis and analysis are primary responsibilities
  • Exceptional proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and visual dashboards
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and completing multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, diligent, detail-oriented, and a self-motivated team player
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-sufficient and able to operate effectively without close supervision
