Job summary

A staffing solutions company in Oshawa is seeking a Financial Manager responsible for ensuring adherence to financial regulations, managing budgets, and preparing financial statements. Candidates should have a degree in accounting and at least 5 years of experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector. This is a full-time position offering an hourly rate of $25.00.

Job description
What You’ll Do
  • Ensure the business’ financial affairs are conducted in accordance with GAAP, government & Ministry regulations.
  • Maintain professional standards in accordance with the Agency’s policies and procedures, CCA Accreditation standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Monitor income and expenditures within the approved Agency’s budget.
  • On a monthly basis, educate Managers and Supervisors on their individual operating budget.
  • Ensure the financial systems are in place for the smooth and efficient daily operation of the business, and prepare the financial section of the Business’ Service Plan.
  • Advise and consult with the Executive Director on budgeting, expenditure control and forecasting.
  • Provide financial statements and data to the Executive Director, the Board and relevant departments as necessary.
  • Provide financial reports (including the Transfer Payment Annual Report – TPAR) as required by various funding bodies, for funding proposals and grants.
  • Conduct a yearly Audit preparing yearly Financial Reports with an Auditor of the Board’s discretion.
  • Complete the Registered Charity Information Return to maintain the Agency’s charitable organization status.
  • Facilitate the maintenance and replacement of the Agency’s property and equipment.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll and Annual T4’s.
  • Administer RRSP Plan and Health Benefit Plan in conjunction with the Executive Director and Human Resources Manager, and negotiate renewal of plans in the best interest of the Agency’s financials.
  • Keep up-to-date the business’ insurance; including: General Liability, Director’s & Officer’s, Professional Liability (Errors and Omissions), Property (Commercial), and Vehicle.

Compensation

Hourly rate of $25.00 / hour
