Finance Analyst, Parrish & Heimbecker

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Finance Analyst for our Milling division based in Cambridge, ON. P&H Milling is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions. From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Month-End: Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations; validate and analyze monthly reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Fixed assets oversight: Maintaining Fixed Assets Records for multiple locations, depreciation schedules, monthly and quarterly project cost tracking reports while providing any necessary information; supporting budget forecasting for depreciation.
  • ERP & Projects: Collaborate with the Finance team to gather requirements, support ERP implementation, and assist with ongoing process integration.
  • Cross-functional Support: Partner with departments across the business to provide financial insights.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial procedures, ensuring documentation and standardization of processes.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Support additional projects and financial tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in financial analysis or a related field.
  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting, fixed assets, and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills, communication abilities, and teamwork.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide creative solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and quickly learn new processes.
