Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer medications (IM, SC and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settings
- Support / monitor administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and / or homecare setting
- Monitor post-injection / infusion treatments, and chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation
- Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures
- Provide reliable availability based on the agreed upon employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics KPI
- Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of information
- Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering and other duties as assigned
- Participate in team web-based meetings / training sessions to maintain and enhance professional practice standards
- Participates in specialized client related trainings as required
- Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product specific programs
- Required to travel within designated IBUs to meet operational needs
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Follow all Health and Safety standards as per the provincial Health and Safety Act
- Complete ongoing and annual education training as per the training matrix within specified timeframes
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations, regulatory bodies and company policies
- Perform related duties and tasks as required by Innomar
- May be required to be on standby / on call to meet service needs
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse
- Experience with IV therapy is an asset
- Diploma / University degree in nursing or related field
- Current registration with provincial licensing body; CPR certificate
- Experience in acute care inpatient / outpatient or homecare setting
- ACLS, PALS, MS and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines / port experience are considered assets
- Knowledge of cell phone use for making and confirming appointments / assignments and fax machines
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger team
- Able to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Cell phone for making and confirming appointments / assignments
- Flexibility to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last-minute patient appointment requests
- Effective organizational skills; attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in both a team and independent setting
- Able to travel within a geographical boundary
- Hold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver’s license and insurance coverage
