Position Overview

H3M Environmental Ltd. is seeking a mechanically inclined, hands‑on individual to support our field operations by helping keep our fleet and equipment in top working condition. This role is essential to maintaining field productivity, ensuring our teams can focus on safe, efficient project delivery without unnecessary downtime. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands‑on experience in equipment repairs, including trucks, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, and other equipment.

Role and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnose and address day‑to‑day fleet and equipment issues in the field to minimize downtime on project execution.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, field gear, and other field equipment.
  • Support the operations team with equipment setup, mobilization, and demobilization for field projects.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and consumables used for field repairs.
  • Communicate promptly with Fleet Technician regarding maintenance priorities or recurring issues.
  • Assist with general labour and field support tasks during slower maintenance periods (e.g., site setup, equipment cleaning, sampling assistance, materials handling).
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental compliance procedures during maintenance and field support activities.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability with a fix‑it mindset—formal trade certification not required.
  • Previous experience with light fleet, small engines, or field equipment common in environmental or construction settings is an asset.
  • Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to make sound decisions in the field with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to take on a variety of tasks to support operations and project success.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; adaptable to changing priorities in dynamic field conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
