Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking an experienced Traffic Control Technician to work on highway projects across Alberta. In this role, you will ensure the safety of traffic operations, set up and monitor closures, and perform flagging activities. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a high-traffic environment are essential. This field-based position runs from May to November 2026, with shift rotations including 10–14-hour workdays and a living-out allowance provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in traffic control in a busy, high-traffic environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety procedures and protocols are followed.
• Set up closures with adequate signage and barricades.
• Safely maintain and monitor all closures.
• Perform flagging activities to direct vehicles and foot traffic.
• Complete daily traffic inspections and reports.
